Afrikaans lifestyle channel VIA announces seven new shows for January

In Daar doer, which starts on Monday, 8 January, children are given an unexpected home-cooked meal. The show aims to explore the relationships between parents and children. Daar doer will be airing on Mondays at 18:00, with repeats on Sundays at 16:30.

A new show that starts Tuesday, 9 January is Landbouweekliks. In the show, presenter Ivor Price meets farmers in South Africa. The show deals with the agricultural industry and was created in partnership with the magazine LandbouweekbladLandbouweekliks will be airing on Tuesdays at 19:30, with repeats on Sundays at 17:30.

The Afrikaans Internet personality Radio Raps can also be seen on TV from Friday, 12 January in the new comedy-reality show Die Radio Raps show. The cameras follow Jonathan as he aims to tackle different topics in a fresh way. Die Radio Raps show will be airing on Fridays at 20:00, with repeats on Saturdays at 18:00.

Genoeg, which starts Monday, 15 January, follows one person’s 13-week weight-loss journey – within only 30 minutes. The contestants are supported by a panel of professionals who will help them take on various challenges both physically and mentally. Genoeg will be airing on Mondays at 17:30, with repeats on Sundays at 15:00.

Trippe, trappe, tone, which starts on Wednesday, 17 January, is a dance competition for children presented by Bianca le Grange. Week after week, twelve junior dance couples will take to the dancefloor. Brandon Eilers Le Riche of Strictly Come Dancing and the ballerina Diani Gernandt are the judges. Trippe, trappe, tone will be airing on Wednesdays at 17:00, with repeats on Sundays at 14:00.

On Ete vir twee, which starts on Tuesday, 23 January, individuals are given the opportunity to set two of their single friends up on a blind date. The couples’ date will be hosted by their friend. Ete vir twee will be airing on Tuesdays at 18:00, with repeats on Saturdays at 22:00.

The reality show Noodlig, which starts on Wednesday, 31 January, gives viewers a look into the lives of ER24 paramedics. Cameras follow nine paramedics in the ambulances and on the scenes where they fight to save lives. Noodlig will be airing on Thursdays at 21:00, with repeats on Sundays at 22:00.
