The concept, themed as the Youth Takeover, sees young people between the ages of 17 to 35 taking over the Drive on Metro FM for an hour. The idea was started by Mo Flava in 2016 when he was still hosting The Morning Fix on Metro FM from 08:00 to 10:00 on weekdays and proved to be a success. The Youth Takeover is part of the youth month celebrations and has been running for the month of June.

“The idea behind it was to give young people an experience in the world of broadcasting. The principle is just to give access to young people through the station,” adds Mo Flava.

The Drive on Metro FM, co-hosted by Mo Flava and Masechaba Ndlovu, is still taking entries for the Youth Takeover and individuals are encouraged to send their voice notes or demo of no more than 90 seconds to 083 595 1162 and a short motivation on why they should be on the show.
