This after it was discovered that the MP was paying a meagre R1500 per month towards the maintenance of his nine year old daughter.
The UDM MP was allegedly hauled before the high court by his ex-wife after he failed to pay papgeld for more than four months.
Now the court has ordered Kwankwa, who earns more than R80000 a month as an MP, to pay R8000 (10% of his salary) per month towards the support of his child and to also foot his wife’s legal bill amounting to R45000. The court ordered the bill incurred by Kwankwa’s ex-wife to be paid in two instalments of R20000 and R25000.
Kwankwa is expected to pay the amount of R8000 per month for 12 years until his daughter, who is now nine, turns 21. Put simply, Kwankwa is set to pay R96000 per year in papgeld and will have paid R1.1-million by the time his daughter turns 21.
