She comes from a humble home and as a young girl she never thought music could be something she could take up as a full-time career. Today however she is literally singing a new tune as her song Lion of Judah was one of 2016’s biggest hits, and its onward and upward for Award-winning gospel musician Lebo Sekgobela.
Lebo shared how she wanted to be a Chartered Accountant but could not afford. “I wanted to be that, but my family could not afford for me to be there”
“My mother was a domestic worker. She used to come with the last night bread from her employers house and feed us”
The humble Gospel Star said that it is okay not to be a rockstar. So in church she still prefers to be the same “child of God” she was before the fame.
The Gospel star did however announced that she is embarking on a tour. She has done East London already and will be coming to Pretoria soon. She says she is looking forward to connect with people who bought her album.
She said she is looking forward to use the tour to Minister together with her fans in different towns.
Anele asked Lebo if she will ever consider to be a Pastor, she said that will never happen. She also says she does not see herself opening her own church. She considered that her calling is to minister the gospel through music.
Lion of Judah has 2,8million views on YouTube. It was one of the most popular tunes of 2016.
Lebo shared with Anele that her father has passed away and will be laid to rest this coming weekend. (RIP to Ntate Sekgobela)
